Downloading and installation instructions:

Pick Host Diskette

The file that you download is a ZIP archive that contains a program W_DISKS.EXE and an image of a Pick format diskette. You use the W_DISKS.EXE program to copy the disk image onto a blank, unformatted diskette which you then use to install PicLan onto your Pick host system. A helper batch file MK-DISKS.BAT is included in the ZIP to assist you in this task.

Note: The W_DISKS.EXE program will run under DOS, Windows 3.x, and Windows 95. It will not function under Windows NT. It is recommended that you run this program under DOS if possible.

Client Diskettes

The client is posted either as:

A ZIP archive that contains the W_DISKS.EXE program plus four image files. This allows you to create four 1.44Meg diskettes that you then install the PicLan client from.
A ZIP archive that contains a network install directory. You unzip the archive into an empty directory and can then install the PicLan client form there.

Authorization Codes

PicLan for AP/Pro and Mentor PRO is licensed through the O/S vendor (either Pick Systems or General Automation). You do not need an authorization code for these platforms. PicLan for other platforms is license through Modular Software. You will need an authorization code for these platforms. If you are upgrading from PicLan version 1.1 or earlier, the authorization code has changed and there may be a charge for the upgrade (contact Modular Software with your PicLan serial number for a quote). If you are upgrading from PicLan version 1.9 or later, then your existing authorization code will function.

PicLan client version 2.0.0.29

This release has three changes, all involving the PicLan terminal emulator:

TCP/IP TELNET support now has an added option on the connect menu to control the TELNET handling of CR NUL and CR LF sequences. This is a test patch and will likely be further modified in a future release.
Change to how REVERSE is implemented, hopefully to more closely match Pick console behaviour (further updated in 2.0.0.29).
Change to PLTW and PLTW32 so that CtrlInsert and other characters are mapped and can be redefined in PL-CFG.INI.

PicLan version 2.0.0.26 features are also included in these releases.

At the current time, only the network install of this release is available. Diskette images will be posted in the near future.

PicLan v 2.0.0.23

This test release is intended to be the next product release. The following changes have been made with release 2.0.0.23:

Emulation fixes to correct a fault in PLTW and PLTW32 when in Regent mode
Change to the low-level ethernet driver for Mentor PRO to leave interrupts disabled during network adapter interrupts. This appears to stabalize some faster system when heavily loaded.

The following fixes are intended for version 2.0.0.23 as additional platforms are posted:

Fix for Sequoia PRO (and perhaps Pick/64+) dealing with file transfer truncation when large items are transferred.
