This document describes problems that have been reported installing the PicLan client and possible workarounds for each problem:

Support File Problems When Running PL_SETUP.EXE

This problem has been reported in the field under Windows 3.1 and Windows for Workgroups 3.11. It has not be reproduced at Modular Software and does not appear to happen on virgin Windows for Workgroups 3.11 installs. This workaround may solve this problem.

There have been several reports during beta testing of the PL_SETUP.EXE program (and other PicLan programs as well) reporting one of the following three errors:

These problems appear to be problems in setting up 16-bit Visual Basic version 4.0 support files on some target versions of Windows. If you experience this problem, you can try the following workaround:

At this point you should try running the PL_SETUP program icon again. If this works, please report this via internet email to Modular Software. Include some information about your installation (type of Windows, virgin install or upgrade, etc.) If this does not work, contact Modular Software (again preferably via internet email) for technical support.
